Prof. Dr. Sohely Rahman completed her medical graduation from Rajshahi Medical College and successfully passed her FCPS in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation from Bangladesh College of Physicians and Surgeons (BCPS) in 1996. Then, she started her career under Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and worked in different Medical Colleges & Hospitals across the country in her 36 years of profession.

She worked in BSMMU for 7 years; after that she was appointed as Assistant Professor of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at National Institute of Diseases of Chest & Hospital (NIDCH). Then she joined as Associate Professor in National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (NICVD) and served there for several years. Later, she worked as Professor & Head of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation in 3 well known hospitals, i.e. Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College & Hospital, National Institute of Traumatology & Orthopedic Rehabilitation (NITOR) and lastly in Dhaka Medical College &Hospital for 11 years.
