This school was founded with the initiative of the leaders of the then Swadeshi movement centered around the Gangacharan Pathshala, with the patronage of the landlords of Gouripur, and with the encouragement of the Deputy Magistrate of Mymensingh district, the renowned writer and historian Shri Ramesh Chandra Dutt ICS.
