Barisal Zilla School
Barisal Zilla School (Bengali: বরিশাল জেলা স্কুল) is one the prestigious and oldest educational institute in the Barisal Division of Bangladesh. It's a boys school, the first high school in Barisal Division, and the second oldest school in Bangladesh. The school has a long history. It was established by N. W. Garret, on 23 December 1829 with only 8 students. Now it has more than two thousand students. It has esteemed alumni including Sher-e-Bangla A. K. Fazlul Huq, Abdur Rahman Biswas, Tawfiq-e-Elahi Chowdhury, Bir Bikrom Sardar Fazlul Karim and many more renowned people.
