The Group started its business in the year 1949 as a trading concern in the name of H.M. AHMED & SONS. Day by day the concern expanded business in various area. The group started Travel Agency business in the year 1983 in the name of AIR BANGLA INTERNATIONAL LTD. Now this is a first Class Travel Agency in Bangladesh with IATA approval. Then the group expanded the business to Hotel & Tourism sector and established residential hotel named “HOTEL HEROCITY” in the year 1987. Then expanded the business to the Live stock sector. And established a modern Poultry Hatchery with Ultra Modern machineries & equipment in the year 1999 in the name of PAHARIKA FARMS LTD. Thus the group started shipping Business in the year 2003 in the name of PACIFIC SHIPPING LINES. Besides this for the expansion of business the group opened various organization in the trading sector. Under this ALAM & COMPANY (PVT.) LTD. has been incorporated in the year 1987. In the trading sector various organizations of the group has been engaged for import and export. The main imported items are- Rice, Wheat, Sugar, Pulses, Soda, Ash and Cement Clinker etc. Recently the group started export business for Ready Made Garments and Tea. The business group is well know in the business society as “ALAM GROUP” Today, Alam Group of companies is one of the leaders in wheat flour milling in Bangladesh. But this journey of constantly delivering superior quality products began way back in 1949. Starting with a small production unit with a capacity of 60 MT per day, Alam Group made a humble beginning in the field of flour milling. And with determined efforts to carve a distinct space for itself, the Group furthered with firm steps.
