There are approximately 158 Universities in Bangladesh have taken the approval from the University Grants Commission of Bangladesh (UGC). However, only 99 universities have started courses, although few are in this list unable to accomplish the requirements of the UGC to ensure quality education. The rest of the 59 universities only received the permission for established higher education organization. Now they are working to set up campus, established infrastructure, design curriculum and recruit faculty member and teachers for university in Bangladesh.
